§ Mr. Moateasked the Secretary of State for Employment what is his estimate of the total number of people in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland who have moved into new employment during the last 12 months for which figures are available.
§ Mr. GoldingPreliminary results from the General Household Survey held in Great Britain in 1975 suggest that about 5½ million persons either entered employment or changed their jobs at least once in the preceding 12 months. This estimate has been derived by applying the percentage of respondents in work who had entered or changed employment— this percentage being subject to sampling error—to the employed labour force at mid-1975.
