asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, on compassionate grounds, he will now allow Wing Commander Simmonds from Rhodesia to visit his 85-year-old mother.

Wing Commander Simmonds is fully aware that his activities in Rhodesia have resulted in his being made subject to entry restrictions. My right hon. Friend has seen no evidence of compassionate grounds sufficient to justify him in making an exception in Wing Commander Simmonds favour. However, if there should be any change in the circumstances my right hon. Friend would be willing to consider the matter further.
