HC Deb 16 June 1977 vol 933 c280W
Mr. Canavan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the total public money spent in the Jubilee celebrations in Scotland.

Mr. Millan

There was no net cost to central Government funds, since expenditure was more than offset by the proceeds of sales of special Jubilee coins. While I have no information about local authority expenditure on Jubilee celebrations, local authorities were apprised of the Queen's expressed wish that undue expenditure should not be incurred.
