§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will launch a campaign to start in September to encourage non Welsh-speaking persons resident in Wales, and particularly those in predominantly Welsh speaking areas, to register at evening classes or crash courses in the Welsh language.
§ Mr. Barry JonesI welcome the efforts of local education authorities and responsible bodies in Wales to meet from within their available resources the demand for Welsh language courses for non Welsh-speaking persons. I do not consider that a Government campaign would be appropriate.
