HC Deb 15 June 1977 vol 933 c182W
Mr. Rost

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what information he has regarding the preliminary work authorised by the Nova Scotia Government on a prototype tidal power barrage in the Bay of Fundy.

Mr. Eadie

I understand that the Nova Scotia authorities have commissioned the drilling of test bore holes at suitable points in the Bay of Fundy and that this work is being supported by seismic surveys. Given favourable results to this geological investigation, wider-ranging studies will be undertaken. The possibility of a prototype turbine installation is, I believe, being considered.
