§ Mr. John MorrisTo date, grant commitments totalling £354,839 under the European Regional Development Fund have been approved in respect of tourism projects in Wales. The first claims amounting to £235,000 are to be paid shortly.
§ Mr. Morganasked the Secretary of State for Wales whether he will endeavour to obtain the maximum financial assistance from EEC funds devoted to the promotion of tourism to pay for the cost of, and occasioned by, recreational traffic on Welsh rural roads.
§ Mr. John MorrisYes. Last month I announced that the Commission had committed grants totalling over £100,000 in respect of local authority road schemes in Wales associated with tourist traffic.
