§ Mr. O'Halloranasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement on the prospects of employment for school leavers in the Greater London area.
§ Mr. GoldingIt is too early to make predictions about the employment prospects for school leavers in the Greater London area, particularly since no reliable figures of their numbers can be given. The placing of summer school leavers is normally spread over a period of several months. However, it would appear that the Easter leavers have fared better than was generally anticipated. The Government are at present considering the Manpower Services Commission's report "Young People and Work", and a state-164W ment to the House about this will be made by my right hon. Friend as soon as possible.
