HL Deb 29 July 1977 vol 386 c1208WA
The Lord Bishop of ROCHESTER

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they are in a position to make any further statement regarding State aid for historic churches that are in use.

Baroness BIRK

My right honourable friend the Secretary of State for the Environment is prepared to deal with a limited number of applications for grant towards the repair of outstanding churches and other ecclesiastical buildings in England, where work must be done within the current financial year in order to avert danger to their fabric.

House adjourned for the Summer Recess at seventeen minutes past two o'clock until Wednesday, 26th October, 1977.
