§ Mr. Gristasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what executive responsibilities he exercises under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesI have exercised the powers conferred under the Act to make regulations about the issue of safety certificates by local authorities in England and Wales and to designate grounds in England and Wales in respect of which such a certificate is required. I also have responsibility for the determination of appeals in relation to safety certificates for grounds in England; a similar responsibility will be exercised by my 425W right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Wales in relation to grounds in Wales.
