HC Deb 28 July 1977 vol 936 cc374-5W
Q5. Mr. Molloy

asked the Prime Minister what instructions he has issued for the production of estimates in the use of Great Britain's oil in preparation for the next decade.

The Prime Minister

I have asked my right hon. Friends the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Secretary of State for Energy to produce in the autumn estimates of the likely benefits to the nation of North Sea oil revenues and the scope for using these to stimulate investment and build up our industrial base in the 1980s.

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Energy published an Energy Policy Review in March and proposes to publish a Green Paper on energy policy later in the year.
