HC Deb 28 July 1977 vol 936 cc509-10W
Mr. Blaker

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what progress has been made at the Belgrade conference towards setting a date for the substantive review conference intended to take place in the autumn; and when he expects the latter conference to begin.

Mr. Luard

Satisfactory progress has been made by the CSCE preparatory meeting at Belgrade, but agreement has not yet been reached on certain of the points at issue, including the timing of the main meeting. Representatives of the neutral and non-aligned countries have proposed that the main meeting should begin on 27th September. This date would be acceptable to the Government.
