§ Mr. Sproatasked the Secretary of State for Social Services in how many cases in the last 12 months his Department has prosecuted in the civil courts persons convicted in magistrates' courts of defrauding his Department of social security benefit in order to recover the balance between the sum of which they defrauded the Department and the compensation ordered to be repaid for these offences in the magistrates' courts, given by each region of his Department.
