Mr. Richard Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his estimate of the number of households in (a) the United Kingdom and (b) Great Britain, which support 100 per cent., 75 per cent. and 50 per cent. of all the dependent children in the population.

According to estimates from the 1971 Census of Population, 100 per cent., 75 per cent. and 50 per cent. of all dependent children were to be found in as few as the following numbers of households:

Dependent children are taken to be all children aged under 15 and students aged 15 and under 25.
