HC Deb 28 July 1977 vol 936 c512W
Mrs. Jeger

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what progress has now been made towards obtaining compensation for United Kingdom citizens for injury, loss and damage caused by the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974.

Mr. Luard

The negotiations with the Turkish Government I referred to in my reply to my hon. Friend on 7th March have continued although the recent Turkish elections have inevitably slowed progress. It is now expected that the regulations to establish the Turkish Cypriot Claims Committee will be presented to the Turkish Cypriot assembly during its autumn session.
