(2) how many applications from debt collectors, debt adjusters, debt counsellors and credit reference agencies have 474W been received by his Department for a licence under the Consumer Credit Act; how many have been approved; how many have been rejected; how many are under consideration; and what appeals procedure exists in the case of a refusal;
(3) how many applications from consumer credit and consumer hire businesses have been received by his Department for a licence under the Consumer Credit Act; how many have been approved; how many have been rejected; how many are under consideration; and what appeals procedure exists in the case of a refusal.
§ Mr. John FraserSince the Act imposes on the Director General of Fair Trading the duty of administering the licensing system, I am asking him to write to the hon. Member. The Act makes provision for appeal to the Secretary of State, and from him, on a point of law, to the High Court.
