§ Mr. Bradleyasked the Secretary of State for Energy what further steps he intends to take to publicise the need for energy conservation.
§ Dr. John A. CunninghamThe autumn phase of the "Save It" campaign will be launched towards the end of September with a £1 million publicity campaign which will demonstrate the high cost of wasted energy and promote better home insulation and wider use of controls for central heating systems.
A substantial campaign will also be directed at industry to encourage the appointment of energy managers, efficiency investment in energy and to stimulate use of the Energy Survey Scheme. The Department is organising the first National Energy Managers Conference at the National Conference Centre on 26th September to be opened by the Secretary of State for Energy.
We are currently considering what further measures will be appropriate.
