asked the Secretary of State for Transport if within the proposals he has recently announced for the Kirkhamgate Dishforth road there is included resources for a bypass for the city of Ripon.

Consultations between North Yorkshire County Council and the Department are already taking place to consider the implications of the choice of the new route from Kirkhamgate to Dish-forth, but any proposals for a bypass or relief road of Ripon will be for North Yorkshire County Council.
