HC Deb 27 July 1977 vol 936 c234W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Attorney-General whether he will give for the longest period of time the number of Queen's Counsel, barristers and other legal persons who have been briefed by his Department who have received fees or payments of money to the extent of £135 or more per week for a 40 hour working week.

The Solicitor-General

I regret that this information is not available, as counsel are paid by the case. In fixing such fees, however, careful regard is had to the requirements of the price code to which barristers' fees are subject.
