Member for Surrey, North-West on 17th November, what action has been taken following the recommendation from the sector working party on the heating and ventilating equipment industry that the Government and public authorities should make information on future public sector demand and on the marketing strategies of the fuel industries available to the sector working party and to the companies in the industry.
Mr. Alan WilliamsThe sector working party has been asked to specify the244W type of information which would be of most use to the industry and this is a subject of continuing research. The sector working party hopes to begin consultations in the near future with appropriate public sector authorities which will cover information about future demand and the strategies of the fuel industries.

Mr. Alan WilliamsIn his Budget the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced that an additional £100 million would be provided over the next two years for construction work in inner city areas. On 2nd May the Minister for Housing and Construction announced that an extra £30 million was being provided for public sector housing improvement, in order to assist the construction industry. On 15th July the Chancellor released a further £100 million for the construction industry generally, including £40 million for housing improvement.
