HC Deb 27 July 1977 vol 936 c233W
Mr. Ford

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many Chilean subjects have been admitted to the United Kingdom during the period of the present Chilean Government; and how many applications for admittance are presently under consideration.

Dr. Summerskill

I have been asked to reply.

I understand that my hon. Friend has Chilean refugees in mind. 2,212 people had been admitted to the United Kingdom by the end of June as refugees from the Chilean régime. 2,190 of these were Chilean nationals. 298 applications involving 466 people were under consideration in the Home Office on that date.
