§ Mr. Rookerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many kidney machines are not at present being used at East Birmingham Hospital due to lack of staff and facilities; and when he expects such machines to be brought into use.
§ Mr. MoyleTwo kidney machines for children, donated privately, are not being used at present because no dialysis facilities exist for children at the hospital. It is planned to provide a four-bed children's dialysis unit but it is too early to say when this will be completed.
