§ Mr. Onslowasked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the current total of export orders underwritten by the Export Credits Guarantee Department in respect of each of the OPEC countries.
§ Mr. MeacherIt is not desirable to make public statements on the availability of the facilities of the Export Credits Guarantee Department for individual markets. However, at the present time ECGD is at risk for the 13 markets comprising OPEC in respect of export contracts totalling approximately £3,600 million. In addition, the Department carries risks amounting to approximately £105 million in respect of various types of performance bonds in these markets.
