§ Mr. Loveridgeasked the Secretary of State for Transport after what period of time, following the issue of a motor vehicle test certificate by an authorised examiner, his Department is prepared to withdraw the examiner's authorisation where his Department's technical officers have retested the vehicle and found it unfit to be issued with a test certificate.
§ Mr. HoramIf an authorised examiner who issues a test certificate for a vehicle which is found to be defective has received within the past five years a written warning about the testing standards of his garage, his authorisation is generally withdrawn at seven days' notice. I believe this to be desirable for the protection of the public.
