§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Energy if his Department will commission a study of the possibility of generating electricity from the power of tidal currents flowing through the Menai Straits.
§ Mr. EadieMy Department is considering the case for a tidal power scheme in the Severn Estuary since this is regarded as the most promising site in the United Kingdom. There are at present no plans to make a study of the Menai Straits.
