§ Dr. SummerskillThe Horserace Betting Levy Board allocated some £903.000 by way of prize money, fixture fees, payments for technical and security services, and grants and loans for capital improvements to Scottish racecourses, grants for poinT—to—point meetings and veterinary research at Scottish Universities. Scotland also benefits to a significant but unquantifiable extent from other Levy Board expenditure, notably the racehorse transport allowance scheme.
