§ Mr. Parkasked the Secretary of State for Employment what have been the effects on the placing of unemployed persons in jobs and the notification of vacancies since the opening of the jobcentre in Coventry.
§ Mr. GoldingI am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that the jobcentre at Coventry opened for business on 19th April 1977. It is too early to make a considered assessment of the impact of the jobcentre on the numbers of unemployed people placed into jobs and on the number of vacancy notifications obtained. Preliminary indications are very encouraging.
