HC Deb 20 July 1977 vol 935 cc546-7W
Miss Richardson

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection (1) how many applications for a licence under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 have been received by the Director General of Fair Trading; how many have been granted; how many have been refused; and how many credit reference agencies he estimates are operating outside the terms of the Act;

(2) when the process of licensing credit reference agencies under the Consumer Credit Act is expected to be completed.

Mr. John Fraser

Since the Act imposes on the Director General the duty of administering the licensing system, I am asking him to write to my hon. Friend.
