§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Lord President of the Council, in the light of the Government's policy concerning trade union recognition, and the rights to negotiate, whether the Government expect to permit hon. Members who are trade unionists to have their trade unions negotiate their hours, wages and working conditions; and whether he will meet the Association of Scientific, Managerial and Technical Staffs to discuss these matters.
§ Mr. FootI would refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave him on 30th June—[Vol. 934, c. 290]. These are matters for this House and, therefore, not for negotiation between the Government and a trade union.
