HC Deb 14 July 1977 vol 935 cc207-8W
36. Mr. Heffer

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has had any representations from the Prison Officers' Association regarding conditions of employment at Walton Prison, Hornby Road, Liverpool; and what reply he has given it.

Mr. John

The Liverpool branch of the Prison Officers' Association has put forward to the governor a list of grievances, most of which relate to manning levels in the prison. Some of those have been resolved locally, but others raise national issues which must be negotiated with the association at national level. The local branch has been informed accordingly.
