§ Mr. Wrigglesworthasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will take steps to prevent the application of the fifth and final transition rate of import tariff on fresh fruit under EEC arrangements in January 1978 in relation to produce not available from EEC sources from January to May 1978 such as apricots, grapes, peaches and nectarines.
§ Mr. BishopThese tariff changes arise from our obligations under the accession treaty, by which we are committed to align with the common customs tariff in accordance with an agreed timetable. We could not depart from these arrangements without breaking our treaty obligations.
