§ The Attorney-GeneralIn 1976–77, 77.5 per cent. were approved, 8.2 per cent. were refused, and 14.3 per cent. were abandoned. Applications may be refused because the applicant is outside the financial limits for legal aid; because he has not shown that he has reasonable grounds for taking, defending or being a party to the proceedings; or because it appears unreasonable to the local legal aid committee that he should receive legal aid in the particular circumstances of the case.
