§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, in view of the fact that Mr. Arshap Siddiqui, details of whom have been supplied to him, was admitted to the United Kingdom on 2nd October 1974 on condition that he did not work, and yet has worked since this date, why he was admitted without permission to work knowing he would have to exist on social security, and as he has now been recommended for deportation when this is likely to take place.
§ Dr. SummerskillThe court's recommendation for Mr. Siddiqui's deportation, made on 21st June, is now being considered. I will reply to my hon. Friend's letter of 4th July as soon as a decision is taken.
