§ Mr. Viggersasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection why he has not accepted the representations made to Her Majesty's Government by the National Ports Council to exempt port authorities from the Price Code.
§ Mr. MaclennanIn the consultative document on prices policy (Cmnd. 6861) the exemption from the Price Code of all charges for harbour operations within the harbour area is proposed. We believe that this additional exemption is in line with the latest representations made by the National Ports Council. The Council is free to make any further observations to my Department before the consultative period ends on 18th July.
