§ Miss Joan Lestorasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, in view of the recent decision of the Berkshire Council to adopt new criteria for dealing with homeless families, which will deny assistance to certain categories which fall within priority groups laid down by the Government in 1974 and will limit assistance to other families to 28 days' temporary accommodation, if he will hold discussions with Berkshire county authority; and if he will make a statement.
