§ The Prime Minister53 appointments have been made by the Queen on my recommendation in the past 12 months, of which 38 were to six Royal Commissions. A full list is below. As far as the first part of the hon. Member's Question is concerned, I have made 61 such appointments since taking office in April 1976.
