§ Mr. Kenneth Clarkeasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he proposes to reduce the limit of £20 million set on the machine tool industry scheme in August 1975 in view of the fact that only £6 million of assistance has so far been taken up in spite of attempts to attract applicants and improve the terms of the scheme.
§ Mr. CryerNo. Assistance of £8 million has now been approved under the Machine Tool Industry Scheme and applications are under consideration which involve potential assistance of a further £15 million. New applications are still being received; the closing date for application is 31st December 1977.
