§ Mr. EadieI recently announced the results of two technical studies related to tidal power in the Severn Estuary. These studies, together with other relevant information, will be considered by my right hon. Friend's Advisory Council on Research and Development and I expect the council to report with recommendations later in the year. In April I announced 391W the expansion of my Department's wave energy programme from a budget of £1 million to £2½ million. This will allow a better basis for judgment on the next phase of wave energy work in the autumn of 1978.
