Mr. Hooson

asked the Secretary of State for Defence (1) how many cadets, undergoing current officers' training in the Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force colleges, respectively, there are whose ethnic origin is non-United Kingdom; and what percentage of the total they represent;

(2) how many (a) commissioned officers and (b) non-commissioned officers there are in the Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force, respectively, whose ethnic origin is non-United Kingdom;

(3) how many officers and men, respectively, of West Indian or Asiatic ethnic origin are currently serving in the Guards and the Household Cavalry;

(4) how many military personnel there are in the Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force, respectively, whose ethnic origin is other than the United Kingdom; and what proportion these represent.
