§ Mr. Beithasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will refer the proposal for two new gas pipelines and associated installations between Scotland and Northern England to a planning inquiry commission so that full public consideration can be given to whether or not it should be proceeded with.
§ Mr. Guy BarnettI understand that consultations on the proposal to which the hon. Member refers are still at a preliminary stage. It is too early, therefore, to be able to say what procedures will be most appropriate.
