§ Mr. Litterickasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what are his reasons for refusing permission to allow a demonstration in Trafalgar Square on 30th January to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Londonderry Bloody Sunday, particularly in the light of his decision to allow a demonstration in November 1976 by the Ulster Peace Movement in Trafalgar Square.
§ Mr. ShoreSuccessive Governments have taken the view that it would be wrong to make Trafalgar Square available for meetings about Northern Ireland in present circumstances. The meeting of the Peace People was allowed as an exception because of their non-partisan approach.
