§ Mr. Litterickasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish in the Official Report his Department's estimates of the size of the additional benefit payments arising as a result of the operation of the new State pension scheme in the years 1977–78, 1978–79, and 1979–80, respectively.
§ Mr. OrmeThe additional benefit payments arising from the 1975 Pensions Act which begins to operate from April 1978 are estimated to be about £20 million in 1978–79 and £45 million in 1979–80.
