The information available is given below. The figures for the United Kingdom and the USA relate to 1975 whereas those for Germany are for 1974.
The USA figures only include unions which are members of the American Federation of Labour and Congress of Industrial Organisations—AFLCIO—and the four largest non-AFLCIO unions, and consequently do not take account of approximately 40 other unions, representing some 3 million members, for which individual membership figures are not available.
