Mr. Cohen

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what was the total number of girls in 1971, 1974, 1975 and 1976 who were remanded or committed to remand centres following conviction but before sentence;

(2) what was the total number of boys in 1971, 1974, 1975 and 1976, who were remanded or committed to remand centres following conviction but before sentence.
