§ Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will seek to create co-ordination between those responsible for the job creation programme, local authorities, the National Enterprise Board and interested local bodies to develop viable schemes of small scale enterprises to provide employment and training, particularly in deprived inner urban areas.
§ Mr. GoldingThe Manpower Services Commission is currently studying how best to encourage the development of small scale viable enterprises which aim to create new jobs and I understand that a report is expected by the end of March this year. Meanwhile, the Commission has set aside pound;1.05 million of the funds allocated to the Job Creation Programme to assist projects of this kind, including those in the inner urban areas.
