§ Mr. John Mooreasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what are the numbers of publicly-owned houses in the United Kingdom, USA, and West Germany in each of the past 15 years, in total, and as percentages of the gross housing stock; how many residential units there are in the United Kingdom, USA, and Western Germany; and, in each of the past 15 years, how many, as a percentage, have been privately owned.
§ Mr. ArmstrongFollowing is the information:
his Department would give to a local authority planning to build special accommodation for the elderly with dwellings below the pavement level and the local 343W flood level; and if he is aware of any such plans other than those for Bolton Road, Chiswick.
§ Mr. ArmstrongMHLG Circular 82/69 stressed the need for local authorities to have regard to a wide range of matters in selecting sites for housing old people. The choice of sites must, however, be made by the local authorities in the light of local circumstances.
§ Mr. Hayhoeasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he is satisfied with the plans for council dwellings for the elderly in Bolton Road, Chiswick which provide for some dwellings to be below the pavement level and the flood level.
