§ Mr. MillanThe Association has been sent a copy of a letter from my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Education to my hon. Friend the Member for Renfrewshire, West (Mr. Buchan) indicating that, while the Government cannot interfere in arrangements for international matches, he hopes that the Association will have regard to the views expressed by my hon. Friend and other bodies. I understand that my hon. Friend the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs is writing to the Association giving an assessment of the political background and suggesting that the Association would wish to take it into account in considering its plans for the proposed match.
