§ 24. Mr. Newensasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will take 199W steps to dissuade local authorities from terminating the rights of gipsies and other travellers to use stopping places within their areas until they have provided an adequate number of places on authorised sites.
§ Mr. MarksBecause of the continuing shortage of authorised camping sites, successive Governments have recommended local authorities not to evict gipsies indiscriminately from unauthorised sites, and this advice will be reiterated in a forthcoming circular.
