Mr. Ralph Howell

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what percentage of capital expenditure by the local authorities in 1950, 1960, 1970, 1975 and 1976 was represented by loan charges.

The following table shows loan charges as a percentage of the gross current expenditure of local authorities together with the percentage of gross capital expenditure financed from loans.
