§ Miss Margaret JacksonHer Majesty's Inspectorate's chief duties are to monitor educational standards and developments within maintained and non-maintained schools and higher and further education and to report to, and advise my right hon. Friend on a national basis. Other functions include liaison with local education authorities and other bodies, preparing publications and in-service courses, and consulting with those concerned with education in the United Kingdom and overseas.
