§ Mr. Hicksasked the Secretary of State for the Environment, in view of the increasing resources being made available to the Scottish and Welsh Development Agencies, what representations he has received to allocate extra funds to the Development Commission to ensure that a five-year period of factory building can be completed in Devon and Cornwall.
§ Mr. MarksThe Development Commission has represented to me very strongly its need for extra funds to build advance factories in many areas of rural depopulation including Devon and Cornwall. Any extra funds for the Commission would have to be found from the totals announced on 15th December but no decision has so far been taken to allocate more to it.
